Classic Porch

A porch is a focal point, a place where many elements of a home meet up in a visual and functional resolution. 

How this is done and with what materials can have a dramatic effect.  Our clients of this West End home had in mind a post and ball that they’d seen in the neighborhood and wanted to replicate.  Around these custom-made one-piece hardwood turned posts with integral balls we built the porch.  We added painted trim, railings and balusters of matching wood and hardwood decking with a clear finish. 

The porch is great for setting up chairs to eat al fresco when the weather allows, sliding snow easily away in winter, and is pleasant and inviting.
